La Forza

La Forza is a deeply intimate and symbolic work, born from the desire to portray my teenage son through the attentive and sensitive gaze of a mother. In this composition, every element carries emotional and narrative significance.

At the center stands a black horse, captured in the act of rearing up on its hind legs. Its powerful and proud posture embodies the overwhelming energy of youth — the vitality and inner strength that define adolescence: a stage of life that is intense, full of momentum, desire, and the need for self-affirmation.

At its feet, the presence of a coral snake introduces a quiet tension. This element symbolizes the fears and concerns that every mother inevitably projects onto her child’s future — the unknowns, the dangers, and the challenges of the outside world. Yet, the horse’s resolute gesture — striking the snake away — becomes a symbol of the young man's ability to face and overcome what threatens him, with courage and determination.

Above all, La Forza is an act of love. It is a visual dedication, an emotional reflection on the delicate balance between protection and trust — between a mother’s instinct to shield, and the necessity to let go.
